Australian-Records.com and AustraliaRecords.NET
To offer services to search for person’s personal records such as:
Birth Certificate/Registered Name Changes, Licence/s, Tax File Number/Taxation Records, Passport, Criminal Records (if any), Financial Institution/Credit Records, Address, Medicare Records, Patient/Medical Records et cetera?
Isn’t it illegal, and a breach of privacy?

I can’t answer for Australia. The person saying that all records are public, is incorrect for the US. Birth and death certificates are NOT public records, unless over a certain number of years (depends on the state/ law). Medical records are strictly private in the states.
Yes. SOME records are public, depends on your direct law. Not all.
edit
perhaps someone disagrees…
after 30 yrs with genealogical research.. I do have solid background related to WHICH records are open to the public, and which are not.
People NEED to check what the law really is…

i think this is not illegal because these are public information. the information is a public property since we are "obliged" to have these information submitted. i think this is one way to control social problems since these information serves as check and balance…
for more information about public record, pls go to this site.
