I am very sorry to hear about your dog. If all else fails, you could try going to the media. Either a newspaper story or a TV story might help to generate donations. They do it for people, why not for a dog. Most of the time a bank account is set up specifically for the cause (your dog’s medical care), and people can then make donations.

Also if your vet will not let you set up a payment plan, I would look for another vet that would. I think it is inhumane not to help a dog just because the owner has run out of money.

Try reasoning with your vet. When my cat had blockage from cystitis, and it was going to cost over $1000, my vet said she'd been burned by care credit and I don't particularly care for it, so she let me give her three checks and agreed to cash one every month. They usually want to save the animal and are pretty reasonable.

Depending on your location, you might be able to find some local resources that are able to help. Try contacting some shelters in your area, or SPCA branches, they’ll know of any municipal, regional, or even state programs that may be in place, where you can get assistance. Have you talked to your vet, about maybe setting up a direct payment plan with them?

Maybe borrow some money from family, or a close friend? Your credit card company may be willing to increase your limit, if you call and ask.
