I’m a recent college graduate with a solid professional/academic resume, but I am lacking in the relative work history department. I’ve been pursuing entry-level analyst jobs in corporate finance and financial services firms but haven’t had any success landing one. Its now time to get job to fill in my resume/have income until I can secure a job in the investment industry. Any suggestions that would be a "plus" in the eyes of a recruiter?
Thanks in advance!
(My ideas so far… bank teller, internships, temp agency…)
Primerica is an option, but it may not be for you. Although recruiting people is very important to building a business with Primerica, if all you want is money to live on, it is not required. However, the only way to make more money (ex: increase commissions) in the business, is to build a team.
If you join to solely to make money though, you will fail. If you wish to make a difference in peoples lives, and focus on that, you will succeed in time.
However, from what I have heard from other insurance agencies and investment firms, they will not touch someone from Primerica because of what we believe. It’s contradictory to high profits.
In short, if you are simply looking for another job, stay away from Primerica. If you are looking to build a business you can be proud of, give it some thought. Only you will know what is right for you.

Don’t do the Primerica rep thing that was given as an answer. It’s basically an organized pyramid scheme. Its horrible. They bait you into just trying to recruit people, instead of concentrating on the job of a financial consultant, which is helping people. I am so against that company and companies like it I wish they would just ban them. Just keep looking, I’m in the same position you’re in. I have a BS in Finance, working on my MBA now, can’t find a job anywhere. It’s horrible. But Primerica is out of the question.

I think that it depend on your personal and family aspirations and goals. Make a decision that will make you feel complete, happy, fulfilled and full of purpose. For the individual that spoke against Primerica… I have the following. Primerica changed my life. My finances, through the information learned took a 180% turn. Now i am on my way to Financial freedom, I am practically debt free, my mortgage will be paid off years earlier, my family is properly protected and now I share my testimony and help others with the same problem; and by the way they send me a check for helping others??? The universities today do not teach in depth the real solutions to real financial problems. I currenlty hold a BBA- Management and an MBA with double concentrations: Finance/Accounting. Education is a key in corporate America, but more important than education is your desire to feel “Complete” and to pursue a career(life-long activity) that will not only help you pay the bills- who wants that?- but that will give you the opportunity to excel in the Land of Opportunity. If you focus on doing what is right with the people that you come accross with, then my friend, things will go right. Remember the “Golden Rule”. Help others and you will be fulfilled not only internally, but Financially: The perfect combination; wouldn’t you agree?
I thank God for Primerica every day. It changed my life and my family’s future for generations to come.
I wish you the best and GO WIN!
