Here is an outline of what I discuss in the video All three major US indexes had strong gains for the shortened trading week. Dow was up 1.17 percent, the S&P climbed 1.61 percent, and the Nasdaq soared 2.65 percent. Stocks closed mixed Friday, even though there was a great jobs report. Gains came because investors and traders believe that the “cheap” market is worth buying and they continue to believe in the recovery going on here in the US. Non-farm payrolls jumped 200000 in December, pushing the jobless rate to a near three-year low of 8.5 percent. Economists polled by Reuters had expected a gain of 150000. The markets will most likely continue to stay in a narrow range as the Euro crisis continues. French President and German Chancellor are meeting today likely to discuss measures to enforce budget discipline among the EU members to help stave off the ongoing euro zone crisis. The euro briefly dipped below $1.27 against the dollar, hit a 16-month low as investors remained cautious over sovereign funding issues.
